Watering Schedule
Pinellas County has specific watering days for both fresh water (potable) and reclaimed water for unincorporated residents. Since over 70% of the world’s fresh water goes toward irrigation, Pinellas county has developed a schedule and some basic rules for residents to help save water. The watering days depend on the source of your water (reclaimed, well, lake or pond) and your address.
Potable Watering Schedule
Potable water, by definition is water used for drinking or food preparation. For irrigation purposes it also refers to water from wells, ponds or lakes. Below is the watering days chart for Pinellas County Potable Water for unincorporated residents. This means the residents that receive water bill from Pinellas County Utilities customers only. Pinellas residents that live in Belleair Clearwater, Dunedin, Gulfport, Oldsmar, Pinellas Park, Safety Harbor, South Pasadena, St. Petersburg, Tarpon Springs may receive water from that city.

North County Reclaimed Watering Schedule
Below is the watering days chart for North Pinellas County Reclaimed Water. This applies to residents who live in North Pinellas and have a reclaimed water hook up for the the irrigation of their lawns.

South County Reclaimed Watering Schedule
South Pinellas County has a 3 day per week watering schedule with Seasonal Restrictions October 1 – November 30 and April 1 – June 30. Below is the South Pinellas County Reclaimed Watering Schedule chart. This applies to the residents that live in South Pinellas County and are currently using reclaimed water for their lawn irrigation.

Reclaimed Water From Your City in Pinellas County
Customers receiving reclaimed water from a city (not Pinellas County) must follow the restrictions established by the city:
Wasting Water is Prohibited
- Do not allow water to flow from an unattended hose.
- Handwatering is only allowed on restricted days 1x per day.
- Do not allow water to flow from a broken sprinkler head, outdoor faucet, malfunctioning plumbing or irrigation system after receiving verbal or written notice. Additional violations will result in a $193 fine. If you have received a citation, please call 727-464-4000.
WATERING DAYS EXEMPTIONS
Watering During New Lawn or Plant Establishment Period
- Please fax exemption proof to 727-464-3717.
- 60 days is the allotted time for new lawn establishment period.
- For the first 30 days, the lawn may be watered any day of the week.
- From days 31-60, lawns or plants may be watered 3 days per week, during authorized hours and on allocated watering days. Even addresses only on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, Odd addresses only on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
- Watering must be isolated to new plants or lawn areas.
- Establishment period watering exemption begins on day of installation.
- New lawns or plants may be watered at any hour of the day on installation day.
- If watering with an irrigation zone, the entire zone may be used if at least 50% of its watering area goes to the new plant material.
- Zones with less than 50% new plant material must be hand watered or watered with a more targeted means of supplemental irrigation like a garden hose sprinkler.
Water For Use In Chemical Applications
- When required by manufacturer or by law, irrigation to necessary lawn chemicals is not restricted to certain days.
- However, please adhere to county regulated authorized watering hours for chemical applications.
- Watering is limited to one .25 inch application within 24 hours of chemical treatment.
- The property owner or manager may be asked to fax proof of chemical application to 727-464-4000.
Using Water For Irrigation Testing or Repair
- Irrigation testing may be done on any day and time. This includes restricted days and hours.
- Testing the irrigation system may be done 1 time per week.
- Irrigation tests must not exceed 10 minutes per run.
- A technician must be on the property administering the test.
