Who You Should Trust to Repair Your Irrigation System in Florida

The average irrigation pump is reliable, durable and built to last. Yet every irrigation pump has the potential to wear down and malfunction. If something goes wrong with your irrigation pump, do not panic! There is almost always an affordable method of repair available to get your irrigation pump back in working order.

Repairs for Reduced Functionality

A system that isn’t performing as designed might be suffering from a blockage. Anything from random debris to leaves can block off the foot valve’s intake screen and prevent water from being delivered. Or, maybe the prime is lost. Even the casings of self-priming pumps must be filled with water for pumping to occur. If prime is lost over and over again, there could be a leaking foot valve that requires professional attention.

Repairing a Pump That Won’t Turn On

A pump that does not turn on might not be as disastrous as it appears. Take a look at the breaker. If it is tripped or not turned on, a reset might do the trick. If the breaker continues to trip following a reset, there could be a problem with the pump wires or motor wires.

It is also possible something is wrong with the electrical system. Do not attempt a DIY repair as the wiring is quite complicated. You will need the assistance of an irrigation specialist for a comprehensive repair. An irrigation professional knows exactly what to look for. A repair might require the installation of low-voltage control wiring, a replacement of the transformer, mending spliced lines or a rewiring of valves.

A Lack of Water

One of the clear signs of an irrigation system problem is the loss of water. Insufficient water or no water at all is a major issue that requires the assistance of professional irrigation pump experts. Yet a lack of water might not be attributable to the pump. There might be an issue with the lines or the valves. An irrigation pump specialist will troubleshoot the problem.

Pump Problems due to Improper Draining

Systems require draining prior to the point in time when temperatures dip down to the freezing mark. An older system that requires manual draining will face serious issues if it was not drained prior to the arrival of cold temperatures. It is even possible for the pump to crack in such an instance. You can’t-do much but rely on the irrigation pump specialists to diagnose the problem and implement the appropriate fix.

Repairing a Noisy Pump

If your pump sounds like it has stones or rocks moving around, there is likely a suction issue that needs to be remedied. If the suction lift is egregiously high, the pump will become noisy. Such noise is the result of cavitation that can damage the pump’s internal components. Though moving the pump closer to the source of water might prove to be a temporary fix, this problem will require analysis and repair by a professional with in-depth knowledge of irrigation pumps.

Be Proactive

If you have any suspicion your pump isn’t operating as designed, do not wait for the problem to solve itself. It is possible the pump was improperly installed. Let irrigation pump experts handle the problem now so it does not worsen and become more expensive as time progresses.

The Irrigation System Repair Specialists are on Your Side

If anything goes wrong with your pump, your first call should be to irrigation repair specialists. They will diagnose the problem, determine the proper course of action and perform a repair that gets your system back up and running as quickly as possible.
